The Storage Room Concept
I recently completed my first project, a storage space is converted into a multifunctional space.
The project has a total area of 32m2 on the ground floor of the building, located in Crete at the old town of Chania, a vibrant area where tourists and locals coexist. The neighbourhood around it provides a more residential atmosphere, where daily life takes place in the streets and the park next door.
The main idea was to keep the space open, so that different uses can be realised. By removing the steel structure of the mezzanine floor we took advantage of the total ceiling height of 4 meters. The sanitary area is enclosed behind the glass block wall, while the marble-clad shower remains as decorative element in the main space. The front garage door was replaced with a wooden glass facade inspired by common patterns around the old town, thus maintaining a homogeneous character with the surroundings. Two wooden windows were also added, one in the sanitary area and one in the area where the kitchen will be located. One of the most important characteristics of the space is the terrazzo the binder was coloured blue and through the process of placing the marble chips, a gradient was created, where a soft transition is formed from white to beige, grey and black at the end of the space, all combined with different colours of marble chips. On the other hand, the terrazzo in the toilet consists of a beige binder, white and smaller black marble chips. The interior of the sanitary area has a homogeneous beige tone, which is visible through the glass blocks. Furthermore the cable tray system allows flexibility of the lighting design. The interior of the main space is painted with lime, allowing the exposed materials to breathe.
Soon the space will be transformed into a dental technician's office.

Temporary Stoa
The concept of the temporary stoa was inspired by scaffolding. This prototype has a temporary character and can be extended in several levels over the height. The ground floor is basically used as an access zone, while the top levels can function as additional open space for the associated building.
Viennese Skywalk
This prototype offers a reinterpretation of the bridge and a new perception of the urban space. It makes it possible to connect two or more buildings and create a new kind of public space on the upper floors.
Negative space
This prototype represents a temporary structure that could fill in the negative structure between the buildings and host a diverse programme of outdoor and economic activities along its floors.
Emergency staircase
This prototype is a temporary staircase placed outside the building that serves as both an access zone and a communicative zone between the open space and the indoor spaces. The staircase enables a multifaceted perception of the street space and makes the spatial programme of the building more flexible.
City stage set
This temporary elevated platform 'stage' above the open space allows for the performance of various activities and is complemented by raised stands for the audience. It creates a new perception of the urban space and makes the city part of the scenographic stage set.
Schanigarten 2
This prototype is a temporary elevated public garden that functions as a quiet open space in the street, as it is separated from the current traffic. It creates more space on both levels and offers potential for a punctual connection with the surrounding building.

The collection of the Architekturzentrum Wien must be made accessible to the public. Since the exhibition space is limited, it is not possible to show the collection in its completeness. Consequently, a selection of exhibits must be made. In order to make the collection visible, temporary exhibitions lend themselves to complementing a permanent exhibition. Both the permanent exhibition and the alternating exhibits are linked to a chronology indicated by fine strips in the floor. Beginning in the middle of the 19th century and continuing into the future, the themes are staggered linearly until the end of the room. Four large, massive tables, the stations, are lined up in a row in the center. On these stations are touch screens that provide access to a "digital archive". They are intended to convey the "mood of a time" based on housing, urban development and society. Here you will find maximum information in the smallest space. In the window niches, touch screens also provide insight into satellite themes that are not bound to chronology. Both the stations and the niches are identified by a massive, fixed character. Both elements belong to the permanent exhibition. The temporary exhibitions, i.e. selected projects from the collection, find their place between the stations and the window niches. Original plans, models, sketches and documents are distributed in the designated space according to chronology. Projects can be exchanged and presented individually or coherently. In contrast to the permanent elements, the display is intended to be of flexible, light form and is always exposure-oriented. As with the stations, the table as a display is used here as a concrete proposal. It refers to the original form of the display: the study table. Especially at the station, the original autodidactic function of the study table comes into play. Visitors can take a seat and explore the topics at their leisure on various self-selected levels. Through the exclusive use of tables, the room can once again be perceived in its entirety.
