Studio Nikos Kouklakis is a photography & architecture practice committed to crafting original visual narratives and spatial interventions.
Inspired by the Mediterranean light of Chania and the design heritage of Vienna, Studio Nikos Kouklakis actively integrates photography as an instrument of creative analysis and architecture as a medium for tangible manifestation. The projects vary from intricate detail to large-scale ventures, challenging the interplay between traditional and contemporary elements while exploring the exchange between rural and urban landscapes.
The design process is driven by interdisciplinary collaborations and stimulated by the knowledge and methodology of craftsmen, architectural offices, fellow designers, entrepreneurs, and cultural institutions.
Nikos Kouklakis has been engaged in cultural mediation at Architekturzentrum Wien (AzW) and the Center of Mediterranean Architecture in Chania. As a freelance photographer, he collaborates with Open House Vienna and Open House Athens.
Studio Nikos Kouklakis was founded in March 2023 and currently operates from Chania and Vienna.
